7 things to do in Toronto today

The CNE keeps spinning today in Toronto. Main events include a laser show, a Caribana parade, and a cooking demo with Chef Michael Hunter. There's also free burgers, a movie in a park, and a seafood feast inside an old hotel.

Events you might want to check out:

Movie Nights in the Park (August 30 @ Kew Gardens)
Check out this free, outdoor screening of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. There's free popcorn for those who arrive early and get a good spot on the grass.
Jackson's Burger Grand Opening (August 30 @ Jackson's Burgers)
Jackson's Burger has left Yonge street because of the crazy rent hikes and have relocated not too far to 38 Elm St. in Toronto. They're giving away 374 free burgers today to celebrate.
Tanika Charles (August 30 @ Roy Thomson Hall Patio)
The Polaris Prize-nominated soul singer takes over this patio on King West for a free show at 6 p.m.
k.d. lang (August 30 @ Sony Centre for the Performing Arts)
k.d. lang has won four Grammy awards, eight Juno Awards, a BRIT, an AMA, a VMA, and four awards from GLAAD. She's touring her classic album Ingenue, which turns 25 this year.
Bride of Chucky (August 30 @ The Royal Cinema - Toronto)
This is a full night celebrating this horror classic with a drag pre-show at 7:30 p.m., the movie at 8 p.m., and a panel discussion about 'Diva Worship' following the movie at 9:30.
Harvest Wednesday's (August 30 @ Gladstone Hotel)
Tickets to this dining event are $70, but when Chef Kristin Donovan from Hooked is cooking a seafood feast, money is no option. Grab your tickets in advance, as the dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. - 9:30.
CNE 2017 (August 18 - September 4 @ Canadian National Exhibition)
Today at the Ex there's also a laser show, sand sculptures, and a Michael Hunter demo at the Home pavilion. It's open until midnight so no need to rush, take your time snacking, riding and gaming.
