5 things that were supposed to open in Toronto this year but still aren't finished

There are lots of exciting plans for Toronto's future. From the Bentway (the park underneath the Gardiner) to the 21-acre Rail Deck Park, there's a lot to get excited about in the year's to come. But what about the projects, stores and restaurants that were supposed to be here by 2016? I guess we'll have to keep waiting.

Here are 5 things we're probably not going to get in Toronto this year.

Hotel X

Hotel X at Exhibition Place was delayed a number of times, but once construction started, it was supposed to open in 2016. Now, the 30-storey luxury hotel will welcome guests some time in 2017.

Spadina Subway Extension

Once upon a time, the Spadina Subway Extension, including the well-designed Finch West Station, was going to be ready in 2016. You won't have to wait too long to see this project come to fruition because it's slated to open by the end of next year.

Revamped College Street Promenade

A part of College Street, between Havelock and Shaw, is getting a makeover. This massive construction project was meant to beautify the street, but has run into numerous delays - it was supposed to be finished by Oct. 8. Now, the city's looking to re-tender to finish the remaining work next spring.

Khao San Road-style Thai Food at Union Station

The food options at Union Station have improved over the past few years, but at the end of 2015, news broke that a new fast casual Thai spot called Bangkok Buri was opening at this transit hub in 2016. Clearly it hasn't yet and we're all still waiting hungrily for it.

Permanent Air Jordan Store

The Jordan store at 306 Yonge Street opened for a NBA All Star weekend pop-up, but was supposed to become a permanent Yonge-Dundas fixture this summer. Thus far, it has yet to reopen.
