The Season of Joy (December 12 @ Roy Thomson Hall)
This is your chance to see a glorious free show at Roy Thomson Hall. The Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto's The Season of Joy presents this free noon hour concert. Get there early as seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Holiday Market and Skate (December 13-15 @ Bay Adelaide Centre, Arnell Plaza)
Hosted in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, this holiday market is curated by Usful and features a public skating rink. It's a BYOS (bring your own skates!) situation and you can expect local vendors selling a variety of luxury gifts, artisanal food, and holiday goodies around the rink. The rink and market are open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Indie Night (December 13 @ The Piston)
One of Bloor West's best spots for live music and dancing hosts a night of free indie music. Poesy, Mercy Flight and Elise LeGrow all perform starting at 9 p.m., and there's absolutely no cover. Discover something new without touching your wallet.
DJ Skate Nights: Opening Night (December 17 @ Harbourfront Centre)
Toronto's coolest outdoor winter party returns with a lineup of local and international DJs. The season kicks off with singer/producer/songwriter Katie Stelmanis of Austra. She'll be combining her love of dance music with her classical and jazz roots for an eclectic, sonically diverse set of danceable techno and beyond to keep you warm as you skate by the lake.
Love Actually Screening (December 18 @ Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema)
For Hot Docs Holiday Classics, the cinema screens holiday faves for free! Love Actually is a newer classic, but it's perfect to watch inside where it's warm and cozy. Showtime is 8 p.m., and although it's free, try to bring dried beans or rice as a donation to The Shop.
