SUN JULY 28 / BARON VAUGHN / COMEDY BAR / 945 BLOOR W / 700PM / $20

Baron's following the path of Comedian 2.0. What I mean by that is that he's performing on television, playing supporting roles in movies, and simultaneously doing stand-up on a regular basis. He's recently gone through the late night gauntlet, doing Lopez Tonight, Conan, and Jimmy Fallon. In fact, he's just taken the next logical step, which is filming his Comedy Network half hour. Ian Atlas, your producer, feels so strongly about Baron that he's promising your money back if you don't absolutely love his performance. Wowzers.

TUES JULY 30 / MODEL CITIZENS COMEDY / MEASURE / 296 BRUNSWICK / 9PM / $5

Darryl Orr and Claire Stollery are starting a new monthly show at Measure, and they're kicking things off with a sick line-up featuring Chris Locke (MTV), Dave Merheje (MTV), Sandra Battaglini (Canadian Comedy Award), Jeff Elliott (Yuk Yuks), and Steve Dylan (Mr. D). At $20, it'd be a fair price. At $5, it's highway robbery. Oh, and if Darryl Orr starts off a sentence with, 'I look like a guy that...' put down your drinks.

WED JULY 31 / FAKING BAD / COMEDY BAR / 945 BLOOR W / 930PM & 11PM / $12

Last month, I caught Bad Dog Theatre's improv production of The Walking Dead, and it was easily one of the best shows that I've seen since starting out in comedy. This month, they're taking on AMC's bohemoth, Breaking Bad. Given the absolutely stacked line-up of improvisers, who've done everything from grace the stage of Second City to appear in Good Will freakin' Hunting, expect nothing less than the best.
