Taco joint moving into old Sadie's Diner space

CampechanoToronto's King West neighbourhood might be reaching peak taco as Campechano, a "no fuss" taqueria, gets ready to open up inside the former Sadie's Diner space at Adelaide and Portland.

Campechano is a joint venture between Daniel Roe and Javier Flores, who are cousins from Mexico, as well as Raena Fisher. Roe has experience working at Black Hoof, Mercatto and La Carnita. His small menu will focus on eight to ten Mexico City-style tacos filled with toppings such as pastor (spit-roasted pork), chorizo, fish and guisado, or stewed meats.

Campechano hopes to start serving lunch and dinner by the second week of November. It'll include 40 seats inside as well as a patio. Local diners will soon have even more choices when they're craving Mexican and Latin-style food thanks to the nearby Wilbur Mexicana, Valdez and the new La Carnita on John Street.

Do you think Campechano is a good replacement for Sadie's? Let us know in the comments.
