THIS WEEK
- Harbourfront Centre celebrates Dia de Los Muertos this weekend, November 8th and 9th with live entertainment, family friendly programming and a Day of the Dead market featuring craft and food vendors.
- The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street) and host Ivy Knight present a Canadian Artisan Tasting Fair on Monday, November 11th. The free event offers a chance to partake in blind tastings, judge a competetive cook-off and create some DIY food art.
- Biff's Bistro (4 Front Street) and Chef Amanda Ray present A Taste of Vietnam, a special menu on Tuesday, November 12th inspired by recent travels. Reserve a seat for the $60 dinner featuring four courses and beer and cocktail pairings.
UPCOMING
- Canoe (66 Wellington Street West) hosts the second annual Canoe Wild on Saturday, November 16th starting with a cocktail reception at 6pm. Tickets are $80 per person for the "Ontario fall hunt" themed dinner featuring a collaborative multi-course menu from O&B Chefs John Horne and Anthony Walsh plus guests Derek Dammann (Maison Publique) and Alex Cruz (Société-Orignal).
- The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo will turn the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (255 Front Street) into one giant cocktail party next weekend from November 14th to 17th. Tickets start at $20.
- The Gluten Free Garage returns to Artscape Wychwood Barns (601 Christie Street) on Sunday, November 17th. The food fest for sensitive tummies will showcase guest speakers, food trucks, kid-friendly activities and a market.
- The Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown will take place at 7pm on Tuesday November 19th in the Fermenting Cellar at the Distillery Historic District. Tickets are $50 for a chance to taste and vote on 12 chowder and beer pairings.
- Kosherlicious is coming to Roy Thompson Hall (60 Simcoe Street) on Tuesday, November 19th. Tickets start at $95 for the evening of food from kosher caterers, purveyors, pastry chefs and vintners.
- The Bristol Yard (146 College) will celebrate St. Andrew's Day on Saturday, November 30th with a dinner and party featuring a Scottish feast for $25.
- The Hart House is celebrating the holiday season with a locally sourced Winter Buffet from Chef Marco Tucci complete with traditional stuffed turkey, Ontario slow-roasted beef, pasta, sustainable seafood catch of the day, vegan entrées, assorted sides and desserts. Tickets are available now ($30-$40) for three dates from Tuesday, December 17th to Thursday the 19th.
OTHER NEWS
- The Depanneur (1033 College Street) has launched a new weekly feature, a Pop-Up Showcase, featuring Toronto's top underground culinary talent. To be held every Thursday, the inaugural month-long showcase will debut with $12 dinners from Olivia Rosenberg and David Gleeson of Crossroads Diner food truck.
