There are plenty of bars in Toronto to watch the 101st Grey Cup, all of which will be far warmer than the stands at Mosaic Stadium in Regina. In fact, for many us, this is one of those events when it might not be better to there, what with the frigid temperatures. Alas, our hometown Argos didn't make it all the way to the finals this year, but for those who want to show Steeltown a little support or just take in this oh so Canadian of sporting spectacles, here are some sports bars around town that'll get you plied with beer and grub as you tune into the big screen.
The obvious place to start is with our list of the best sports bars in Toronto . All of these would make good spots to take in the Grey Cup. If, however, you're looking to try something new or perhaps a bit less predictable, the five spots below should work well.
The Dock Ellis
Toronto's newest sports bar comes from the folks behind the Emmet Ray, and if you're into craft beer and a laid back vibe, this is a good candidate for Grey Cup viewing. While there aren't quite as many TVs as you might find at more over-the-top establishments, the sight lines are solid and the reduced number actually fosters a bit more of a communal watching experience.
Hunter's Landing
The vibe might be a bit on the restaurant-y side for hardcore sports fans, but if you're looking to watch the Grey Cup in a public setting and happen to reside in CityPlace, this is the spot for you. The front bar area has plenty of TVs, the menu is varied but not overly fussy, and the beer selection is decent.
WAbar
A relatively newcomer at Yonge and Bloor, WAbar is sure to have a young crowd, lots of half-time entertainment, and Asian-inspired pub grub. It's a modern sports bar that resists much of the Coors Light and Canadian cliches.
Amsterdam Brewhouse
This sprawling brew pub by the Harbourfront is stacked with TVs, good pub grub and, as you'd expect, a ton of Amsterdam Beer. It's a vast space that's got great energy when its packed for a sporting event.
Rally Sports Bar & Smokehouse
Over a year old now, Rally Sports Bar & Smokehouse still feels like one of the city's newest meccas of sports entertainment for its over-the-top number of TVs and sports-first attitude. Here you'll find rabid fans, barbecue influenced pub grub, and 13 draught beer options.
