Now that spring is upon us (don't mind the weather), festival season is here and the cherry blossoms will be blooming soon it's time for us to do a bit of spring maintenance and add a few members to our team. We have three one month, full-time contracts for the month of May available. Read on to find out if one of them is a fit for you.

EVENTS EDITOR - FULL TIME (MAY)

We're looking for an Events Editor to join the team on a full-time, contract basis for the month of May. As an Events Editor you'll have your pulse on what's happening in the city and be able to effectively curate event recommendations for the site. Scope of responsibilities include:

• Select events for and write our daily Today in Toronto posts, weekly Weekend Events and Free Events posts, as well as additional event-related articles and preview posts as applicable.
• Attend and write about events as applicable. Note: most events will take place during evenings and weekends so you must have weekend and evening availability to attend.
• Visit and write about new bars and event venues as applicable.
• Moderate and approve events submitted to our events section.
• Collaborate with other members of the editorial team to discuss and plan event coverage for the site.
• Administer and execute contests for the site.

NEWS WRITER - FULL TIME (MAY)

We're looking for a News Writer to join the team on a full-time, contract basis for the month of May. As a News Writer you'll have a keen understanding and interest in subject areas the site covers. You'll be tasked with writing short, breaking news articles multiple times a day as well as some longer-form investigate articles each week. Scope of responsibilities include:

• Monitor the daily news cycle, social media, reader tips and other news sources and select news items to write about that are a fit for the site.
• Pitch and accept a variety of less time sensitive, original assignments that require field and/or investigate research or interviews.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to discuss and plan content for the site.

REQUIREMENTS - EVENTS EDITOR AND NEWS WRITER

• Demonstrated writing capabilities and experience. A Journalism (or similar) degree is preferred.
• A keen eye for photos and other multimedia that will make your articles shine and the ability to format and edit photos using Photoshop.
• Familiarity with writing for an online publication using Wordpress or similar CMS.
• Social media, Instagram, Snapchat, photography and/or video skills are a definite asset.

SNAPCHAT AND INSTAGRAM EDITOR - FULL TIME (MAY)

We're looking for a Snapchat and Instagram Editor to join the team on a full-time, contract basis for the month of May. As a Snapchat and Instagram Editor you'll be tasked with taking our social media accounts to the next level. You'll post daily photo and video based content to both Snapchat and Instagram and make recommendations to help refine what we're doing on these platforms going forward. Scope of responsibilities include:

• Create photo and video based content for Instagram and Snapchat.
• Monitor analytics and discuss findings and strategies with the editorial team.

• Send us links to any relevant online content you've created that you think will wow us.
• Detail your technology prowess including what type of computer and O/S you use, your current smartphone model, photography, video and photo editing capabilities.
• Specify your minimum compensation requirements for the one month contract.
• If applying for the Events Editor role, suggest at least 10 May events that you feel blogTO should be writing about or covering in some capacity.
• If applying for the News Writer role, suggest at least 3 longer-form investigate articles that you'd be interested in pursuing for the site.
• If applying for the Snapchat and Instagram Editor role, explain some things you would do to take what we're doing on these social media platforms to the next level.
