Toronto's Nuit Blanche wrapped up its 10th annual art party on Sunday morning. While the city has already set a date for next year (October 1, 2016), the event will move forward without its title sponsor, Scotiabank.
Back in February, according to the Toronto Star, Scotiabank told Nuit Blanche organizers it would be ending its decade-long run with the contemporary art fest. Apparently Nuit Blanche doesn't fit with the bank's "sponsorship strategy" any longer, reports the Star.
Since the bank's decision came before Saturday night, it was unrelated to the altercations that unfolded by Yonge-Dundas Square. Scotiabank is remaining mum about how much it gives to Nuit Blanche annually. However, it'll help organizers find new sponsors for the future.
