THIS WEEK
- The fifth annual Love Food Give Food campaign kicks off today and will run for the months of April and May. Eat out at participating restaurants like Magic Noodle, Food & Liquor, Miss Things and dozens more to order special Love Food Give Food items, which forward $1 (per item) towards Action Against Hunger.
- 86'D Monday at The Drake Hotel hosts a Hot Sauce Tasting on Monday, April 4 from 8 p.m. onwards. The free event will feature tongue-lashing samples from Fidel Gastro's, Pizzeria Libretto, Hopgood's Foodliner, and Flock (to name just a few).
- Join Ontario garlic farmer Peter McClusky at The Depanneur on Tuesday, April 5 for a Table Talk and dinner. The drop-in event is $20 and will include a garlicky roasted chicken dinner with kale salad and chocolate cake iced in black garlic ganache. Doors open at 6 p.m.
- The Toronto Food & Drink Market kicks off on Friday, April 8 and takes place over the weekend at the Enercare Centre. Among the many attractions, look forward to The Grate Canadian Cheese Cook-Off at noon on opening day.
UPCOMING
- Thoroughbred launches Punch Out on April 10. This recurring event will unfold on the second Sunday of every month from 1 p.m. onward and will feature punch bowls from a rotating cast of bartenders.
- Chef Ivana Raca teams up with U-Feast for I-conic, a ticketed dinner on Wednesday, April 13 at Raca Cafe & Bar. Tickets are $70 for the six course feast, which will include oyster Rockefeller and spicy beef tartare.
- The Remedy Food Project is happening from June 17 to 19 at the Sheraton Centre. At the event, 16 speakers will teach about plant-based diets, while chefs and cookbook authors will demonstrate easy and economical recipes. Single day passes start at $139.
