Today in Toronto it's devils night, but you don't have to let the news get you down. There's plenty of light hearted, spooky mischief afoot, including Toronto's annual Halloween covers-pocalypse with a line up including The Jesus Lizard! (The Soupcans), Metallica! (Cellphone), Beastie Boys! (Phedre, Hooded Fang, Moon King, Hellaluyah), Babes in Toyland! (Mexican Slang), and U2! (Actually U2). (Kidding. Dilly Dally). Find it all at Death to TO. If you want Weezer covers, though, the Sheezer Halloween party is the place to be.
Then there are ghost tours and free films for those not feeling the gig vibe. The Toronto South African Film Festival also kicks off today, and as part of Startup Open House dozens of Toronto companies will open their doors to the public. For more events, click on over to our events section.
