Remembrance Day 2014 in Toronto falls on a Tuesday, and while it's not a stat holiday in Ontario, a moment of silence will be observed at 11am across the city. This year will be especially emotional as Canadians remember fallen soldiers and veterans, as well as the recent tragedy on Parliament Hill just a few weeks ago, where Canadian soldier and ceremonial sentry Corporal Nathan Cirillo was shot and killed. On November 11th services take place at Old City Hall, Fort York, and various civic centres. There are also concerts and other cultural events to attend in the coming days.
