Waterfront Toronto wants you to know that it exists, that it's done some impressive work to revitalize the lakeshore, and to get excited about what it has in store. So the agency has released a slick new video that touts its accomplishments and future plans. It's rather timely in that a number of the big projects in the works aren't yet complete and it's possible that some might think, like Doug Ford, that the organization is a bureaucratic impediment to speedy redevelopment of the waterfront lands.
The narration is way over the top (like really, let's tone done that movie trailer voice please), but the optimistic take on the waterfront is at least somewhat founded when you see images of Sherbourne Common, Sugar Beach, Underpass Park, and Corktown Common. But the big point of excitement is surely the last shot, which depicts the eastern section of the waterfront in less than a decade. It's a rendering, of course, but it looks fantastic. Have a watch.
