5 things to expect at Toronto's best fall beer event

cask days 2015Now in its 11th year, Cask Days is arguably the biggest beer event in Ontario, if not Canada. Featuring hundreds of breweries pouring cask-conditioned, unfiltered, naturally carbonated beer at The Evergreen Brickworks over October 23rd, 24th, and 25th, if you're a fan of craft beer there are probably few things you don't already know about this epic tribute to real ale.

That's why for this year's preview, I've highlighted information solely pertaining to the 2015 iteration of the event, which promises to be the best on offer thus far.

Crowds and crowds of people
Throughout the event's three days, roughly 8,000 people will attend Cask Days' five sessions, two each on Friday and Saturday and one on Sunday. Get there early if hordes of people make you anxious.

Tons of hard/impossible to find beer
This year Cask Days will feature over 150 breweries from across multiple continents. As with previous years, one particular geographic region will be highlighted, and this year it will be the state of Washington. Presented in conjunction with Elliot Bay Brewing of Seattle, Cask Days will feature a variety of 30 beers available from Washington State that have never been served in Ontario before.

Top notch eats
Excellent local food vendors will be on hand to line your stomachs as you sip cask-conditioned ale. This year that includes Brando's Fried Chicken, WVRST Beer Hall, Porchetta & Co., 416 Snackbar, and Bar Volo.

Art and music
Cask Days will also feature the 7th Annual IPA Challenge, art by featured artist Andrew Kidder (aka RCADE Wizard), and music from local DJs Box Of Kittens.

VIP passes
General admission for Cask Days ranges from $25 - $40 depending on the session, and there are a number of VIP, early access, Sunday brunch, and "ballers passes" available if you are so inclined to upgrade your ticket.

What are you looking forward to most at Cask Days? Let us know in the comments.
