Toronto Food Events: Maple Syrup Festival, Brewer's Backyard, Rib Fest

Food events in Toronto this week welcome a newcomer to the thriving vegan scene by way of the Black Vegan Festival. Elsewhere, Brewer's Backyard is back for a day of winter beer and Pi Co. is set to give away free pies to anyone who drops by.

It might not be October, but lots of German-style vegan goodies are on with beer pairings courtesy of Junction Craft Brewing.
Black Vegan Festival (February 17 @ Artscape Wychwood Barns)
New this year is a festival dedicated to plant-based African and Caribbean foods, health and wellness information, guest speakers and cooking demos.
Brewer's Backyard Family Day (February 18 @ Evergreen Brick works)
The first Brewer’s Backyard is back with a whole day of brews, food, music and activities under the shelter of Evergreen Brick Works.

Pi Co. is ready to open a new location at King and Church and is giving away pizzas to anyone who drops by between noon and 3:14 p.m.
Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival (March 9 - April 7 @ Kortright Centre for Conservation)
