Extended 4am last call in Toronto is perhaps never more welcome than on Nuit Blanche. Well, that is if you're out to party that night. I have no doubt that people trying to get some rest will be mortified to hear that there are so many places at which folks can down booze while pontificating on the ontological nature of the artistic object, but given that the whole event is geared toward playing night owl, it makes sense that there'd be a stable of places to drink late.
As it happens, however, there are only three establishments that have been granted extended last call specifically for Nuit Blanche. I guess the idea is to avoid officially encouraging the hordes of art-goers to lubricate before heading out into the early morning. Do not fear, though. The vast majority of the places on the list below have actually been given special permits on account of Out of Sight, the Queen West BIA's annual art and music event, which piggybacks on Nuit Blanche. But who really cares what the permit is for? If you're looking to drink late on October 5th, here's where to do so.
