The 2013 Toronto Zombie Walk is about to disperse hordes of brain-eating undead upon Toronto streets for the annual parade celebrating blood, guts, and gore. This event has become increasingly popular since its start in 2003, shutting down streets with hundreds of participants and onlookers. This year will be the biggest yet, with the first ever Halloween Parade adding floats and marching bands alongside the lurching masses.
Here are the details you need to prepare for this zombie apocalypse:
WHERE
Nathan Phillips Square
WHEN
Saturday, October 26th. Participants gather at 12pm, the parade starts at 3pm and further entertainment ensues at 5pm.
ROUTE
As was the case last year, the route has changed. The crowd will leave from the north end of Nathan Phillips Square, heading north on Bay to Grenville. Then, after a short jaunt east, the hordes of undead will hang a right and head south on Yonge to Queen, before heading back west to City Hall. For the visually inclined, here's a map:
MAKEUP AND COSTUMES
Bloody make-up jobs are an art form at the Zombie Walk; this is your chance to go all out. Whether you do the DYI thing or would rather just purchase the nastiest getup you can find, these resources will point you in the right direction.
