Remember when it snowed a few weeks ago in Toronto? That's all starting to feel like a distant memory now that it's hot and humid outside.
If you haven't left your air-conditioned haven or pulled yourself away from your fan yet today, it's pretty sticky out right now and that tropical weather will continue throughout the weekend. Environment Canada is predicting that it's going to be 31 C tomorrow with a risk of thunderstorms in the late afternoon.
On Sunday there's still a 40 per cent chance of shower, but it should be marginally cooler at 28 C.
Since the city's outdoor pools don't open until June, here are some of our recommendations for how to beat the heat this weekend:
- Relax on a patio
- Grab some ice cream from one of these neighbourhood spots.
- Visit a park with lots of shade.
- Beat your hangover with a cold brew or iced coffee.
- Try some of the best ice cream in Toronto.
- Indulge with an over-the-top cone.
- Sip on a boozy slushie.
- Treat yourself to an ice cream sandwich.
- Hang out by the lake (where it's always a few degrees cooler).
- Escape into a movie.
- Down some cool new craft brews.
