The Best Korean Restaurants in Toronto

The best Korean restaurants in Toronto can be found throughout the GTA, from K-town to Scarborough and Thornhill. Their offerings encompass the traditional, including appetizing banchan (little side dishes) and favourites like bibimbap (mixed rice) or tabletop BBQ to more modern fusions that blend together east and west.

Here are the best Korean restaurants in Toronto.

8 - Kimchi Korea House

Near Dundas and Bay, this bustling spot does traditional Korean dishes like bulgogi (marinated, grilled beef), seafood pancakes and kimchi stew for both a lunch and dinner crowd.
9 - Piggy's Restaurant

Located just off of Yonge St. in Thornhill, this restaurant does Korean BBQ (featuring, unsurprisingly, pork belly) with lettuce wraps and offers other typical Korean fare.
10 - Han Ba Tang

Fun fusion items like Korean-inspired tacos, kimchi fries and Mac & Gochujang – plus infused soju – make this both a hip and tasty place to have a meal at Yonge & Sheppard.
11 - Makkalchon

Proclaiming that it uses only natural, organic ingredients, this small Scarborough Korean spot on Lawrence Ave. E. draws line-ups for its veggie lettuce wraps, pork bone soup and bibimbap.
5 - Song Cook's

Hidden at the back of a strip mall by Yonge & Steeles, this authentic Korean restaurant is huge—with a menu to match, from dolsot bibimbap (stone pot rice) and japchae (stir-fried sweet potato noodles) to ssam (lettuce wraps) and gamjatang.
3 - Cho Sun Ok

This busy, super popular restaurant near Yonge and Steeles is known for its naengmyun (cold noodles), gamjatang (pork bone soup) and bibimbap.
4 - Buk Chang Dong Soon ToFu (Yonge & Finch)

There’s a simple and straightforward menu at this long-time fave (with one location in K-town and another at Yonge & Finch) that specializes in a variety of wallet-friendly soon tofu (tofu soup) with your choice of spice level.
7 - Oddseoul

Not your typical Korean joint. The Han Brothers have created a hip, Korean-American snack bar on Ossington that serves up inventive stuff like bulgogi cheese steak, Buffalo fried tofu and squash poutine.
6 - Korean Village Restaurant

A classic choice for dinner in Koreatown with an overwhelming menu that includes DIY BBQ kalbi (beef short ribs) and pork belly and, of course, complimentary banchan made by the owner. Even Olivia Chow, Jackie Chan and Nelly Furtado have eaten here.
