Massive sinkhole shuts down Yonge and College

You'd be wise to avoid driving or cycling near Yonge and College over the next little while. That's because the city is still working on repairing the road after discovering a sinkhole near that busy intersection on Friday.

Currently, Yonge Street is closed between College and Alexander. "At this point, it is not known how long it will take to make the repairs and reopen the road," says a news release issued by the city.

Access to the nearby Wood and Greenville streets is restricted to local traffic only, notes CBC News.
