Free events in Toronto this week show us just a few of the cool things happening during Black History Month. Discussing the history of Toronto Hip Hop at the Reference Library is one of them. There's also a Florida Highwaymen show to help warm your mind and soul.

Spoken Word Poetry Classes and Poetry Slam (February 7-28 @ Sony Centre for the Performing Arts)
Every Tuesday for the first three weeks in February, the Toronto Poetry Project teaches various subjects to help craft your own spoken word poetry skills. The final week will be a poetry slam.
Music Bingo: Date Night Edition (February 8 @ Gladstone Hotel)
A free musical bingo night at The Gladstone's Melody Bar combines a love of music with the traditional bingo format. Each player receives a music bingo card with songs instead of numbers. Prizes and games are included.
The Florida Highwaymen Exhibit (February 9 @ Daniels Spectrum)
Warm up with this exhibit from the world-famous Florida Highwaymen. Their famous Florida landscapes will be on display during Black History Month and will feature an appearance from the group's only woman, Ann Carroll.
Down In Front (February 10-15 @ Black Cat - Artspace)
Toronto is rich with photographers, but music photographers are a special breed. Step into the adorable Black Cat Art Space and check out live music photography from Sarah Rix, Stephen McGill, Riley Taylor & Amanda Fotes.
