The Best Bagels in Toronto

The best bagels in Toronto will take your weekend brunch to the next level. Whether you're loyal to the Montreal or New York-style, you can find excellent bagels all over the city at all hours of the day if you just know where to look.

Here are the best bagels in Toronto.

1 - Gryfe's Bagels

You better get to Gryfe's early if you want a dozen light, fluffy bagels on the weekend. Luckily, this local favourite on Bathurst also sells its bagels in retail stores, such as Pusateris.
5 - What A Bagel (Spadina)

There are so many flavour options at this bagel chain. It's serve yourself here, so fill up a bag with bagels, or take a roll to the counter for a sandwich packed with lox, egg salad or cream cheese.
2 - Kiva's Bagel Bar

The original location is just south of Steeles, but you can now find Kiva's New York-style bagels midtown and right in the heart of the Financial District.
8 - Bagels on Fire

The husband and wife team behind this Baeches spot used to work together at Bagel House, but this is their own Montreal-style bagel joint, complete with a wood-burning oven.
3 - Bagel World (Wilson Avenue)

Head to Bagel World for giant twister bagels and satisfying flat bagels that are the perfect vessel for a sandwich or pressed bagel panino.
4 - Nu Bugel

For Montreal-style bagels in the heart of Kensington Market, look no farther than this spot on Augusta Avenue. Have your piping hot bagel plain, or dress it up with a number of toppings.
6 - Bagel House

If you're craving bagels at 3 a.m., you can get them at this mini-chain that serves up Montreal-style bagels 24 hours per day.
7 - St. Urbain Bagels

Find these Montreal-style bagels served fresh out of the wood-fired oven in the St. Lawrence Market. They're usually piping hot, you don't even need to toast 'em if you're grabbing a sandwich.
9 - Bagel Time

Owner Irfan Khan used to work at Montreal's duelling bagel joints: St-Viateur and Fairmont. Like those spots, Bagel Time never closes, so if you're on the Danforth, you can eat one whenever.
