The following Toronto wedding venues offer either a reasonable rental rate, or no rental rate, and many have packages to help make a wedding as cost efficient and stress-free as possible.

Todmorden Mills

A Toronto heritage site set in 15 hectares of green space in the Don Valley, the grounds contain several historic homes in which events can be held. The Brewery Gallery, the Papermill Theatre, and the Papermill Event and Museum Gallery are all available to anyone using the venue. Each space is simple with minimal décor and an industrial feel. Rates range from $125 to $250 per hour with a 3-hour minimum required. The only downside is the lack of a full kitchen.


Granite Brewery

Family owned and operated for over 20 years, the Granite Brewery is a fully equipped venue that offers free underground parking and provides you with 10 beers for your event that are brewed on site. The space feels like a traditional pub with wood finishes and darker colours for décor. There is no rental fee, but packages range from $52.95 to $61.95. They include rental, a four-course dinner or buffet, and an open bar for 4 hours. Ceremonies can be held on-site for a fee of $300.


Toronto Wedding Chapel

Located in midtown, the Toronto Wedding Chapel is the perfect space for intimate ceremonies and weddings. It is a pre-decorated venue with a clean and simple look that can be customized to any theme. The space is operated by professional planners, who offer knowledgeable expertise for every step necessary in bringing your event together. The venue is best for up to 25 guests and can work with any budget, available packages range from $199 to $7,950.


Black Creek Pioneer Village

Always a school trip favourite, many overlook this unique and beautiful venue set north of the city. Old buildings, beautiful landscaping and a serene feel all characterize this venue. The grounds and buildings are well maintained and provide a great old-world setting for a wedding. Four ceremony spaces are available that host from 90 to 180 guests, and four reception spaces can accommodate from 105 to 200 guests. The package for weddings is $107 per person plus an 18% service charge and applicable taxes - all menus can be personalized and the fee includes rental, food and open bar.


Oakham House

Only available for the months of June to August, the Oakham House is an intimate and well-maintained venue in the centre of downtown Toronto that is part of Ryerson University. Originally built in 1848 as a personal residence, the space was renovated in 2009 in order to preserve its natural attributes including exposed brick and wooden beams. The wedding package is $110 per person and includes everything - rental, food, drink, service and taxes. Upgrades are optional.


Dovercourt House

Unassuming from the outside, the Dovercourt House provides plenty of open spaces featuring hardwood floors and bright natural light on the inside. Typically utilized for artistic performances and events, the space is also available for private events. Rentals rates vary depending on date, time of year and hours required, but include access to tables, chairs, a mixer and speakers for A/V needs.


Campbell House

This heritage space on the corner of Queen and University offers a few options for smaller weddings, with several spaces available including the 40-seat dining room or 80-seat ballroom. Catering is available through À la Carte Kitchen or Toben Food By Design, and the gardens are available for use. Fees for events starts around $800 and go up from there.


Ontario Heritage Centre

The Ontario Heritage Centre was originally built in 1909 as the home of the Canadian Birkbeck Investment and Savings Company. This Edwardian building is nestled in the financial district and has been carefully restored to maintain the rich wood panels, white marble lobby and detailed ironwork. Three spaces are available for events - The Birkbeck Room, Oval Boardroom and The Gallery. This landmark building is available for parties of up to 160 guests with rental rates ranging from $300 to $2,150 pending on the space desired, date and duration of use.


The Market Kitchen in St. Lawrence Market

A neat spot in a historical landmark, this space is equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen furnished by Miele and the space has an exposed brick feel with beautiful dark hardwood floors and large windows. Capacity is 60 for a sit-down dinner and 100 for a cocktail party. Rental fees range from $500 to $1,200 depending on the date and time. Fees include furniture, use of AV and some dishes and cooking equipment, but not insurance which would need to be purchased.


Heliconian Hall

Built in 1875, the Heliconian Hall in Yorkville has been restored and maintained to keep its old world charm. With beautiful vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace and functional prep kitchen, it's the perfect gathering space for up to 120 individuals. Rental rates vary pending the function and date, but renters are permitted to bring in their own alcohol with the use of a special occasion permit. The rental rate includes access to a Steinway grand piano, pull-down screen, podium and stage lighting.
