Epic french fry offerings in Toronto go far beyond your standard poutine. Many of Toronto's cheap eats joints, fusion eateries and fine dining establishments have taken it upon themselves to load up their fries with everything from kimchi to fried eggs.
Here are my picks for the top places to get loaded fries in Toronto.
White Brick Kitchen
Loaded fries are a staple at this popular Koreatown brunch spot. The restaurant's Joe Fries covered in sloppy joe meat, spicy mayo and a fried egg are a must-try. Yum!
Moo Frites
Belgian-style frites are all the rage in Toronto thanks to this small Kensington Market fry shop. While their fries are delicious with only salt as a dressing, I'd go for a more unique offering. Fries get topped with everything from peanut butter and onions to kimchi and mayo.
Wvrst
The best way to accompany your sausage at this King West beer hall is with some Dirty Fries. Their delicious duck fat fries get loaded with peppers, jalapeños, sautéed onions and WVRST special sauce.
Shiso Tree Cafe
This Japanese fusion restaurant in Markham serves their fresh cut fries with a variety of toppings but one clear standout is their Okonomiyaki version. French fries are topped with homemade steak sauce, Japanese mayo, bonito fish flakes and green onion. It's almost too pretty to eat, almost.
Lisa Marie
A visit to this Queen West joint isn't complete without an order of Pad Thai Fries. Fries are coated heavily in pad Thai sauce and topped with bean sprouts.
Han Ba Tang
This Korean restaurant and bar in North York offers a twist on some classics - one being their epic kimchi fries. Crispy fries are served up alongside tangy and spicy kimchi, house made gravy, Japanese mayo and bulgogi.
Otto's Berlin Doner
This Berlin style sandwich shop goes beyond doner. Fries here can be loaded with everything from goat's milk feta to beer cheese sauce.
Bar Reyna
You might be shocked to learn that this regal two-storey spot in Yorkville is dishing out some delectable fry options. They offer five types of fries to choose from, including grana padano fries with truffle aioli and za'atar-spiced fries with harissa ketchup.
The Dirty Bird
This chicken and waffles shop does Dirty Fries which dosed in dirty seasoning, cheddar, dirty sauce, fried onions and finished with some dirty mayo.
Banh Mi Boys
While the chain may have built its reputation on banh mi and baos you can never go wrong with an order of their kimchi fries. They're cooked to order and covered in smokey pulled pork, spicy kimchi, mayo and green onions.
