Toronto Food Events rounds up the most delicious festivals, pop-ups, winemaker dinners, supper clubs and other food related happenings in Toronto this week and next. You can find us here every Friday morning.
THIS WEEK
- The Taste of Lawrence festival on Lawrence Avenue East between Warden and Birchmount kicks off tonight, Friday, July 8 and runs until Sunday, July 9. Top attractions include 100-plus street vendors, midway rides and live entertainment.
- The 5th annual TO Food Fest brings together talented chefs and vendors from across the GTA on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 at the Chinese Cultural Centre Of Greater Toronto (5183 Sheppard Ave. E.). It's free to attend (donations or non-perishable food items for Second Harvest appreciated) and promises almost 50 food vendors in attendance.
- The 7th annual Thrill of the Grill and sidewalk sale is on this Saturday, July 9 from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $20 for ribs, corn, refreshments. Allen's, Globe Bistro, The Combine Eatery, Factory Girl, The Meat Dept and The Edmund Burke are all facing off for the title of best ribs on the Danforth.
- The Lovin' Local Food Fest at Yonge-Dundas Square is this Saturday, July 9 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It's free to attend and will feature 16 vendors including The Flyin G'nosh, The County General and The Vegan Extremist.
UPCOMING
- Impact Kitchen hosts Midnight Breakfast, featuring a four course breakfast with bottomless mimosas at midnight on Saturday, July 23. Find options like paleo flat bread with chia jam and cashew almond butter, steak and eggs, avocado walnut brownies and more on the menu. Tickets are $60.
- The lineup for KothuFest 2016 at the Scarborough Civic Centre has been announced. On the bill for the Sri Lankan food fest, happening on Sunday, July 24, are Hopper Hut, Gasa Restaurant, Kothu Boyz and more. The event is free to attend and takes place from noon to 10 p.m.
- The Cheese Boutique hosts Henry's Majestic Picnic on Sunday, August 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $120 (all proceeds go to the Etobicoke Humane Society) for the event featuring top chefs and their sous chef-dogs serving up a BBQ picnic for a good cause.
- Discover Peruvian flavours at Pisco 1641 on Wednesday, July 27. Tickets are $60 for this U-Feast event featuring a multi-course menu of tiradito, costillas de puerco, anticucho de lomo fino and more.
