5 free things to do in Toronto this week

Free events in Toronto this week mean there's lots ways to have fun without breaking the bank. The frightening festivities continue with Halloween on Church, followed by pumpkin parades all over the city. You can get yourself some fried chicken and there's a Diwali festival.

Events you might want to check out:

Horror Short Film Festival (October 28 @ Carlton Cinemas)
Prepare to get spooked with a showcase of some super scary shorts by filmmakers from all over the world.
Halloween on Church (October 31 @ Church Street)
Some of the best costumes of the year can be seen at this big Halloween block party with folks taking to the streets to show off their creative outfits.
Pumpkin Parades (November 1 @ Multiple Venues)
Halloween might be over, but there's still the chance to see hundreds of crafty Jack-O'-Lanterns lit up across many Toronto parks.
Diwali Festival (November 2 @ Nathan Phillips Square)
New at NPS this year is a huge celebration of Diwali, where you can catch traditional music and dance, plus browse through a big bazaar and enjoy food.
Free Hot Star Fried Chicken (November 2 @ Multiple Venues)
Hot Star is celebrating four years in Toronto by giving away 40 of its signature pieces of fried chicken. If you can't snag one, there's lots of specials on all day.
