10 things to do in Toronto today

We're halfway through the week and events in Toronto today are here to get you through it with art, film, comedy and cheese. Young artists are selling their zine works and Marianas Trench is here. You can try out some beer pairings and listen to some poetry, too.

Events you might want to check out:

Marianas Trench (March 13 @ Sony Centre for the Performing Arts)
Canada's very own pop punk rockers Marianas Trench are hitting the stage along with up-and-comers Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine.
The Friends (March 13 @ The Baby G)
The soulful voice of Toronto's own Chris LaRocca joins up with his pals to form The Friends and release a collaborative album of sensuous sounds.
Iran at a Glance (March 13 @ Queen Gallery)
Contemporary Iranian art by local artists looks to capture an Iran in flux as it works to hold on to its traditions amidst mounting outside influence.
Black Sunday (March 13 @ The Royal Cinema)
A throwback to the singular genre of Italian gothic horror, Mario Bava's Black Sunday comes to serve as an influence on many filmmakers today.
What Up! What Up! (March 13 @ Rivoli)
Local comedians of all backgrounds and celebrated unique voices are ready to bring the laughs for this edition of Toronto's urban comedy showcase.
Brockton Writers Series (March 13 @ Glad Day Bookshop (Church))
Fill your soul with poetry, prose and short stories during this live read night with local writers sharing their works and answering questions.
Liked. (March 13 @ Bad Dog Comedy Theatre)
It's like Black Mirror but funnier as local comics take audience members' Instagram accounts and creep them in front of everyone.
Beer Bubbles & Cheese (March 13 @ Church Street Espresso)
The Cheese Boutique is dropping by for a special night of beer, bubbly and cheese tasting, served up alongside a charcuterie spread.
Forbidden Tikka Masala (March 13 @ Imagine Carlton Cinema)

OCAD U Zine Fair (March 13-14 @ OCAD University)
Zines and lots of them are on at this student-run zine fair with tons of handmade zines, comics, poetry, magazines, stickers and more.
