5 free things to do in Toronto this week

Free events in Toronto this week offer a lot of interesting insight into the city, new and old, as the MOCA opens for free and a new exhibit tells the history of music along Bathurst Street. You can catch a fireworks show at the Iranian Fire Festival and see some alternative films as well.

Events you might want to check out:

Alternative Film Festival (March 18 @ 2469 Dundas St. West)
Films that celebrate alternative narratives and techniques are what make up this free film festival with six screenings to enjoy.
Iranian Fire Festival (March 19 @ Mel Lastman Square)
A full day of Iranian celebrations is on with live music, food, drinks, performances and a huge fireworks show.
True Stories Told Live (March 19 @ Garrison)
Local storytellers (and a special visit from UK's Peter Chand) are dropping by to share some riveting tales that are all completely true.
Community Sundays (March 24 @ MOCA)
The newly-relocated MOCA is opening its doors to the public again this month totally free of charge, and including all its ongoing exhibitions.
History of Bathurst St. Sounds (March 24 @ A Different Booklist)
Part of the Myseum festival, this archive exhibit takes a lot back at the unique history of Bathurst Street's once-thriving music scene.
